Startup Scale-Up Masterclass Series 1.0

AIC IIT Delhi successfully organized the Startup Scale-Up Masterclass Series – From Innovation to Commercialization on 22 May 2026 to strengthen the commercialization and business growth capabilities of startups. The program was supported by AIM, NITI Aayog & Startup Haryana.

The masterclass was designed to provide startup founders with practical knowledge on fundraising, investor readiness, and go-to-market (GTM) strategies , along with sales, distribution, commercialization, and industry engagement. It also served as a platform for startups to interact with industry leaders, investors, and experienced mentors.

Inaugural Session

The program commenced with participant registration & were welcomed by Mr. Alok Pandey, CEO, AIC IIT Delhi , who highlighted the importance of industry-academia collaboration and commercialization support for startups.

The inaugural address was delivered by Prof. Somnath Baidya Roy, Dean (Planning), IIT Delhi and Professor-in-Charge, IIT Delhi Sonipat Campus, Haryana. During his address, he encouraged startup founders to focus on innovation-driven entrepreneurship, product validation, and sustainable business growth. He also shared how institutions like IIT Delhi and AIC IIT Delhi are committed to building a strong innovation ecosystem by supporting startups through mentoring, incubation, industry partnerships, and commercialization opportunities.

Following his address, Prof. Somnath Baidya Roy officially launched the product of AIC IIT Delhi incubated startup “PaiByTwo Pvt Ltd” , marking an important milestone for the startup and showcasing the institute's commitment to supporting innovative technologies from development to commercialization.

The first technical session was delivered by Shri Madhav Acharya, Head of Commercialization, Mark1 (Washington DC) and IIT Delhi Alumnus. The session focused on helping startup founders understand the journey from developing an innovative product to successfully commercializing it in the market. Drawing from his extensive experience in technology commercialization and startup ecosystems, Shri Acharya shared practical insights on transforming research and innovation into scalable business opportunities.

The discussion covered key aspects including:
  • Commercialization roadmap for technology startups
  • Identifying market opportunities
  • Building a scalable business model
  • Customer discovery and market validation
  • Strategies for product commercialization
  • Industry partnerships and market access
  • Challenges in scaling technology ventures
  • Best practices for sustainable startup growth

The interactive session encouraged founders to think beyond product development and focus on creating market-driven, commercially viable solutions.

The technical session on Investor Readiness & Startup Finance was delivered by Shri Priyank Garg, IIT Delhi Alumnus, IC Member, and NextVerse Ventures.

The session focused on practical aspects of startup fundraising, including:

  • Investment readiness
  • Startup valuation
  • Due diligence process
  • Fundraising strategy
  • DeepTech investments
  • Financial planning for startups

The session was highly interactive, with founders discussing their fundraising challenges and receiving practical guidance from the speaker.

The afternoon session was conducted by the Senior Leadership Team from Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd.

The discussion covered key commercialization topics such as:

  • B2B, B2C and B2G sales strategies
  • Enterprise sales

The session provided founders with practical industry insights on successfully taking innovative products to market.
