Incubation

Eligibility

  1. Any person desirous of availing incubation facilities has to incorporate a private/public limited company under the Indian Companies Act and apply in the prescribed format (attached herein as Annexure-1) along with required documents.
  2. In case the applicant is a Proprietorship, Partnership Firm or a Pre- Incorporated entity, the promoters must get it registered as a private/public limited company within three months of entry into incubation.
  3. In case the applicant is a Proprietorship, Partnership Firm or a Pre- Incorporated entity, the promoters must get it registered as a private/public limited company within three months of entry into incubation.
  4. Companies that are promoted by students enrolled for full-time Degree at an educational institute shall not be offered incubation if student is holding Executive position, however companies promoted by students are eligible to apply for incubation provided student is not actively engaged with the company beyond any engagement which may be permitted by the Institute.
  5. A company if it is promoted by regular Government staff or employee shall be granted incubation only upon submission of “No Objection Certificate” from the competent authority or employer. However, companies having employees as shareholders are eligible to apply for incubation.
  6. Any company that is or proposing to be engaged in consulting, evaluation or certification services, imparting educational courses and/or training program including vocational programs or is planning to undertake such activities during or after its incubation at AIC IIT Delhi is not deemed eligible for incubation and their application will not be entertained,

Selection Process for Startups

Our selection process is methodical, and the start-up gets feedback from experienced professionals. Applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

  • The team has an innovative technology-based idea with commercial potential and a clear market understanding.
  • The team has an innovative technology-based idea with commercial potential and a clear market understanding.
  • The team possesses the necessary skills and experience for product development and is passionate, committed, and unwavering in their desire to see their start-up succeed.
  • The team demonstrates the ability to execute their idea. This may mean building a preliminary prototype, market validation, acquiring users, or attracting investors.
  • The need for incubation at IIT Delhi and the role of faculty mentor shall be discussed.

Infrastructure & facilities

10,000 sqft of area provided for the Atal Incubation Center, along with makerspace with all the latest equipment & machinery and design, metal fabrication and wood working labs.
